Taking The First Steps In Faith
We all have an opinion about Jesus. Some think he was just a teacher or a prophet. Some think he was a social reformer. Some think he didn’t exist at all. Whatever you believe, we can probably agree that Jesus changed things.
We all have to take a first step at some point in our lives. We all do something new. New relationship. New job. New smartphone. New house. New car.
Following Jesus also starts with a first step. We are all invited to learn and discover more about Jesus. We want New Life Church to be a safe place where you are supported and encouraged as you take your first steps towards faith. You can ask any questions and take all the time you need. We are here to walk with you every step of the way.

When Jesus came to earth, the thing he asked people to do was, ‘Follow me.’ It was a step by step journey of discovery for the first followers and it’s the same for us today.
Trusting Jesus as the way to God is not an exclusive path to God, it’s completely inclusive. No matter who you are, what you’ve done, no matter where you were born or the colour of your skin, Jesus is the way for you to have a relationship with God. Everybody’s included. Everybody’s important.
If you think you’re an exception to the rule, you’re wrong. Jesus loves you. Yes, you.

It takes a few simple steps. Paul wrote about it in a letter to the Romans, 'If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.' (This is from Romans 10.9, one of the books in the Bible.) Jesus died on the cross for our sins and was raised from the dead as proof he was who he said he was.
That's it. Confess and Believe that Jesus is Lord, died for your sins and rose again.

Nope. You don't change in order for God to love you - you change because you've experienced his love. Over time, God's love changes you as you follow him. You change because you are loved - not in order to earn his love.'
Through his death on the cross and then coming back from the dead, Jesus took all of your wrong and gave you all of his right. If you believe in that and commit to following him, your life will never be the same. Believing in Jesus is the first step on the greatest journey of your life. This is only the beginning of a great adventure!'
